I am a
retiree from a large corporation and mostly doing this for fun and
games . My rate is $30/hr. You won't normally
find this low rate.
I learned webpages as
a hobby and since have gathered all the tips and learned the tools.
There are some dozen websites that I've put together of varying degree
of difficulty. These have allowed me to omit first-timers mistakes
and to understand HTML,CGI. etc. plus learn to use the myriad of tools
(Dreamweaver, WS_FTP,AOL Press,Adobe Photo Deluxe, Paint Shop, Photoshop,
etc., etc.) necessary to work on and put together clean, neat sites.
I keep current and don't
charge customers for learning new stuff and have a generous streak
that overwhelms me on occasion (particularly if there's a decent reason).
I've also scouted around
for some web providers (Hosts) that , like me, work at very competitive
rates . Some are even free (but one has to put up with script ads
which can be nettlesome).
I do not use the "charge
what the traffic will bear" philosophy.
